— Thesis: The European Court of Justice's Review of Compliance with Fundamental Rights in Anti-Competitive Practice Procedures
Master II in European Union Law – Panthéon-Assas University – Paris II

Mathieu has chosen to use law as a tool to understand and influence the rules of the economic game.

And he has given himself the means to do so.

After studying in Rennes, earning a Master's degree from Paris II, and completing a thesis conducted in Brussels, Luxembourg, Paris, Nantes, and Rennes, Mathieu has made the exploration of competition law and fundamental rights his field of expertise.

And his research has not remained theoretical. Mathieu has trained in the practice of litigation, both at the European level, within the Court of Justice of the European Union, and internally within competition teams in Parisian law firms renowned for their expertise.

Now based in Brittany, Mathieu focuses his practice on European competition litigation (cartels, abuse of dominant position, merger control) and restrictive practices (significant imbalance, abrupt termination, disputes involving large retailers).

His hallmark? Seeking the "additional argument": the one that shifts a jurisdiction's perspective, that connects fundamental rights and competition law, that questions the scope of a directive in a dispute. Mathieu enjoys new questions, gray areas, cases where strategy hinges as much on substance as on procedure.

Mathieu maintains a strong connection to academia: he teaches Master II courses in Nantes, and since 2021, he has been a member of the editorial board of the Revue des Affaires Européennes (European Affairs Review).

And when he's not dissecting decisions or notification forms, Mathieu runs, hikes, explores the Finistère coast or art museums… even beyond Brittany!

Mathieu practices competition law and European Union law.
