— Thesis: The Coordination of Insolvency Procedures in International and EU Bankruptcy Law
Master's Degree in International Business Law, University of Burgundy

European and international bankruptcy law… This is a niche area of expertise whose technical complexity is daunting for both international lawyers and those familiar with insolvency proceedings! Paola, however, wasn't intimidated; quite the opposite. Since her thesis, which focused on coordinating insolvency proceedings in international and EU bankruptcy law, Paola has made this discipline her area of expertise. From the law applicable to actions for annulment during the foreign suspect period, to the fate of employment contracts in cross-border insolvency proceedings, and even the sanctioning of a company director in insolvency proceedings with regard to the freedom of establishment, Paola enjoys tackling the most complex issues.

Paola has also enjoyed internationalizing her teaching by offering several courses, in English, at foreign universities such as Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi in 2019 and Sorbonne Kazakhstan in 2018 and 2019.

Currently a Senior Lecturer (HDR) at the University of Lorraine and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law in Metz, Paola created and has directed the Master 2 program in "Insolvency Law" there since September 2024.

Paola is also a member of the Business Law and International and Comparative Law research groups at the François Gény Institute.

Paola specializes in insolvency law, international bankruptcy law, and European insolvency law.
