Author of a thesis on "Imperfect Properties," Sylvain is a Senior Lecturer in Private Law at the University of Tours. Passionate about civil law, Sylvain handles its key concepts with remarkable ease: from contract law to family property law, including property law and the law of security interests. Sylvain enjoys exploring areas where concepts are put to the test and delights in questions that require reasoning rather than simply knowing.

Sylvain cultivates legal debate both in scholarly journals and in the heart of the cases he handles before the Court of Cassation alongside a lawyer admitted to the Court of Cassation, in addition to his work as a lecturer and researcher.

And when Sylvain puts down his pen, it is for the pleasure of his students, of course, but also for the audience at the library of the Bar Association, whom he won over during the internship conference.

Always eager for new legal challenges, Sylvain has added a niche expertise to his repertoire: patent law.

In 2021, he took over the co-direction of the Biotechnology and Law Master's program, created to foster collaboration between lawyers and biologists in the fields of biotechnology and the legal protection and commercialization of scientific research.

Sylvain practices in contract law, property and estate law, patent law, and pharmaceutical law.
