Walid chose to specialize in competition law.

And he spared no expense. With a doctorate in hand for his thesis entitled “Postponement Agreements – A Contribution to the Study of the Relationship Between Competition Law and Patent Law,” which notably won the 2022 Vogel & Vogel Jury's Choice Award, Walid passed the competitive examination for university professorship and currently teaches competition law at the University of Perpignan, where he is also co-director of the Yves Serra Center for Economic Law and Development.

Walid grasps competition law in all its facets and potentialities: from the smallest to the largest, competition law considered in isolation, but also in its relationship to general law, patent law, or environmental law; French competition law, as well as European, American, and New Caledonian law.

All this, always with the same passion, the same high standards, and the same simplicity.

This expertise led to his appointment as a qualified expert on the Board of the Competition Authority.

Walid is also a member of the New Caledonian Competition Authority.
