"Secunda aims to offer all legal professionals the opportunity to seek expert advice on complex issues."
How ?
We have devised four products: the Consultation , the Note, the Second Look and the Second.
For the Consultation, the Note and the Second Look, a tailor-made budget calibrated to your case is proposed to you after discussion with the Secondant(s).
The Consultation, the Note and the Second Look are subject to a flat-rate evaluation which, converted to an hourly rate, is between €200 and €300 per hour excluding tax.
The second one is priced at €170 excluding tax.
A customized subscription can also be set up.
The Consultation
The Consultation is a fully written detailed opinion which can deal either with an isolated issue (point on a complex legal question, relevance of a means, analysis of a clause in a contract), or with a case as a whole (possible avenues, chances of success of an appeal or action).
Specifically?
You are entrusted with the sale of a company and, after analysis, it raises a complex tax law issue and requires an environmental audit.
However, these subjects are not your specialties, there is no one in the firm to do the research, you do not have specialists in your network, and you do not want to spend the day exploring these subjects without certainty.
Seconda will then have a seasoned tax law professor and an experienced environmental law colleague work on your case in pairs.
Your client wishes to build a new factory by the sea and transfer all her employees there.
You are well-versed in urban planning and construction law, but you would like the opinion of a specialist in the Coastal Law and the support of a colleague in labor law.
Seconda will coordinate the work of these experts.
Do you have a hunch in a criminal law case that the law in question infringes on a fundamental freedom or right?
Seconda will call upon a Secondant formerly in charge of QPC missions at the Constitutional Council, supported if necessary by a criminal lawyer, to map out the terrain for you and assess with you the chances of success of a priority question of constitutionality.
Do you have a need but the budget for the project is a little tight, or do you just want to have the right arguments to unleash your writing?
We offer you the Note.
The Note
The Note is The consultation can be presented in "sheet" format, "bullet-point" format, or even "detailed plan" format (choose the image that best represents you). Because sometimes, that's all you need.
In practice?
Is there a need for clarification in a case regarding the conditions of summary proceedings for fundamental freedoms or the distribution of powers between judicial and administrative judges?
A publicist experienced in administrative litigation will unravel the state of positive law and guide you on a few points.
Uncertain about the applicable law in the context of an inheritance? Hesitating over the drafting of a GDPR clause? Doubting about the compensable damages resulting from fraud in the context of a transfer of company shares?
A Second will reassure you with a simple and effective Note.
You have already started writing, but your case raises questions that you are not entirely comfortable with, and you need an external and expert opinion to feel more confident.
We offer you the Second Look.
The Second Look
The Second Look is a comprehensive expert review, with the aim of both validating, and possibly strengthening, what you have written, and verifying that no avenue or risk has been overlooked.
Seconda will provide you with one or more Seconders who will secure your work with their expertise and external perspective.
In what cases?
You have been asked to draw up a contract in a particularly sensitive case, raising complex and, in some cases, unprecedented questions.
Your project will be meticulously reviewed by a creative academic and a colleague experienced in contractual disputes, who will ensure the validity of each clause and verify that the chosen contractual form is the most suitable and that no risk has been concealed.
Your client, who considers himself a victim of damages resulting from both the poor execution of a distribution contract and its termination, wishes to sue his Spanish business partner for compensation before the French courts.
You have a good grasp of contractual liability and the abrupt termination of business relationships in an internal context, but you are less experienced with these issues in an international context.
Seconda will call upon one or more internationalists, as well as, if necessary, a specialist in Spanish law, to strengthen your summons and verify that no angle of attack has been left out.
Last but not least: the Second.
The second part is a brief answer (a few sentences, maximum one page) to a targeted specialty question.
The Second
The second is the answer to the "small question", the one that "certainly exists somewhere" but is outside your area of expertise and for which you need a reliable answer.
No worries, Seconda has a specialist in the field who will give you the answer.
Some examples:
Your client wants to transform their business into a dark store and you want to know if this constitutes a change of use.
You are wondering, within the context of a collective procedure, about the date of birth of a claim for a stud fee.
Under Article L.442-1 II of the Commercial Code, you are wondering whether the notice period could have started to run if the date of termination of the relationship was not specified by the party initiating the termination.
The Second option is simple, direct, efficient and… reasonable.
