Jean-Baptiste began his law studies at Toulouse Capitole University and continued them at Paris II, where he completed a Master 2 in Business Law and wrote a doctoral thesis entitled "The Corporate Order."

After three years as a lecturer at Paris II, Jean-Baptiste returned to Toulouse in the fall of 2024, following his success in the competitive examination for university professorship. He currently holds several positions there alongside his teaching and research duties: Director of the University Diploma in Forensic Accounting Expertise and Co-Director of the Master's program in Corporate Law.

A passionate specialist in corporate law, Jean-Baptiste explores all its aspects without exception and shares his analyses in numerous publications. A brief overview of the issues that inform his thinking: the rights of a shareholder to a debt owed by a liquidated company, the usufruct of shares, the relatedness of debts in insolvency proceedings, the effects of a merger during proceedings, the restructuring of companies in difficulty, and, more recently, companies' obligations regarding sustainability and due diligence.
