At the University of Burgundy, Marie developed a passion for international trade law and private international law, to the point of embarking on a thesis entitled “Language and Law in International Trade Relations.”

Convinced of the necessity of practicing law to understand it, Marie then chose to become a lawyer. With her bar exam (CAPA) in hand, Marie deepened her knowledge, through her experience in law firms, of the intricacies of consumer law, e-commerce law, European business law, and arbitration before discovering, on the job, an unexpected aptitude for customs law, to the point of making it her primary area of expertise.

And for nearly ten years, Marie has grasped all its facets, from customs valuation, tariff classification, and the origin of goods, to special customs procedures and customs criminal litigation, including, in particular, audits and assistance with European Union trade policies, excise duties, and port fees.

Alongside her work as a lawyer, and when she's not traveling with her twins, Marie participates in the research of the Center for Research on the Law of Markets and International Investments (CREDIMI) at the University of Burgundy, where she is an associate researcher.

Marie specializes in customs law.
